Lamonica Clayton,
Founder

LaMonica Clayton was born in New Orleans and has lived in the New Orleans area all her life. She founded The T. E. A. (Together Everyone Achieves) Club because of her passion to help teenage girls overcome obstacles that they face. After graduating from Grambling State University with degree in Criminal Justice, She began working in a juvenile detention center with young teenage girl offenders and realized that she needed to do something to prevent young teenage girls from becoming involved in the juvenile justice system. LaMonica then went on to work at a group home where she was able to see the challenges that teenagers placed in the home faced. Even though she was able to reach some of the youth while working at the group home, there was still a feeling to do more for the community. LaMonica returned back to school to earn her Master’s degree in Social Work from Southern University of New Orleans and continued working at the group home in different capacities. Determined to make a difference, The T. E. A. Club was founded in 2021 due to her strong motivation and desire to help teenage girls lacking meaningful guidance through mentorship.
